The Rhoda Bresler Children's Room

The Children's Room in the Daley Center is a special place for children who must be witnesses or whose parents must appear in court. You need not worry about your children while they are in THE CHILDREN'S ROOM. They can only leave with the person who brought them!

If you are the parent of a child witness, or if you are involved in litigation in a courtroom in the Daley  Center, please allow your child to wait in a bright, comfortable, child-centered place. The Children's Room can accommodate a limited number of children aged 4-12.

A Children's Room is also available at the District 6 Courthouse in Markham. Contact the District 6 Courthouse for details about services available there.

  It is scary when  children must go to court and tell about bad things they have seen or which have happened to them.

It is frightening when their parents are angry and  are fighting in court.

It is worse when these children must wait....

 - in stuffy courtrooms

 in forbidding interview rooms

 in crowded hallways....

 with nothing to do.

IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THAT  WAY!
