The Clerk of the Circuit Court is always looking for new volunteers to assist with our Declaration of Intention indexing project. This project offers an excellent opportunity for those seeking archival or indexing experience, as well as individuals interested in history or genealogy. Volunteers enter information from the original Declaration of Intention books into twelve database fields.

Indexers work at the Richard J. Daley Center in downtown Chicago. In general, volunteers index in three-hour shifts at least once a week, although we do try to accommodate individual schedules. Hours for indexing are Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:00.
