May 28, 2020

Effective May 28, 2020, until further order of the court, in light of the global coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to protect the health and safety of the general public and court employees, the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court entered General Administrative Order 2020-01 (Link to GAO 2020-01 here). Until further order of court, all matters in all Districts and Divisions are rescheduled and continued for a period of 30 days from 1) the date currently scheduled by the court; or 2) the date as noticed by the clerk; or 3) a date not more than 30 days after July 6, 2020, whichever is later. Please note, if the 30th day falls on a weekend or court holiday, the case shall be continued until the following business day.

April 16, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in the Technology and Innovation Bureau, located on the 25th Floor of 69 W. Washington St., and has been out of the office for a substantial amount of time. The employee is in the hospital.

The employee who tested positive has not had close contact with any Clerk’s Office employees.Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since a considerable amount of time has elapsed since the employee was in contact with the 69 W. Washington, 25th floor office.

To date, 19 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 14, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that two more employees have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee worked in the Criminal Department at the Domestic Violence Courthouse, 555 West Harrison Street, Chicago, and last reported for work on March 18th. The other employee worked in District 4, 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 20th. One of the two employees is hospitalized and the other is self-quarantining at home.

Employees at the Domestic Violence Courthouse and at District 4, who were identified as having close contact with the employees who tested positive, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19; although, it has been greater than 14 days since employees in both office locations were exposed to the confirmed employees. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employees to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleanings of the areas where the employees worked were done, however, the Department of Facilities Management was not requested to conduct deep cleanings since both of the employees did not have contact with their respective office areas for a substantial amount of time, which is in accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines.

To date, 18 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 13, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in District 4, 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 16th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

Employees of District 4, who were identified as having close contact with the employee who tested positive, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19; although, it has been greater than 14 days since the employees were exposed to the confirmed employee. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked was done, however, the Department of Facilities Management was not requested to conduct a deep cleaning since the employee did not have contact with the District 4 – Maywood office area for a substantial amount of time.

To date, 16 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and last reported for work on March 24th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employee have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate has already deep cleaned and sanitized the area where the employee worked.

To date, 15 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 3, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one more employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was assigned to the Domestic Relations Division, which is located on the 8th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., however, the employee primarily worked on the 10th floor of the Daley Center and last reported for work on March 16th. The employee is in the hospital.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employee have been notified of their potential exposure. Notification regarding the impacted area is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees. The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the area where the employee worked.

As of today, 14 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 2, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in the Criminal Department on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., and last reported for work on March 24th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

The employee reported that he/she had no contact with the Criminal Department office area on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, nor with any other Clerk’s Office employees, on the employee’s last day at work. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked was done, however, MB Real Estate was not requested to conduct a deep cleaning since the employee did not have contact with the Criminal Department office area for a substantial amount of time.

To date, 13 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that three more employees have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and last reported for work on March 19th.

Another employee worked in the Domestic Relations Division on the 8th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., and last reported for work on March 20th. The third employee worked at the Cicero Records Storage and Digital Imaging Center (“Records Center”), 1330 S. 54th Ave., Cicero, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 25th. Two of the three employees are hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the areas where the employees worked.

To date, 11 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


March 29, 2020

Both of the employees worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and both last reported for work on March 20th. One of the two employees is hospitalized.

One employee worked in the Child Protection and Juvenile Justice Division, 1100 S. Hamilton Ave., and last reported for work on March 18th. The other employee worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and last reported for work on March 20th. Both of the employees are hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the areas where the employees worked.

March 26, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee – a Chancery Division employee working in a courtroom – did not come into contact with any employees in the Chancery Division in room 802, Daley Center, 50 W. Washington. The employee has been hospitalized and last reported for work on March 17th.

The Office of the Chief Judge and the Sheriff’s Office have been contacted so that they can notify the employees within their agencies that were identified as having close contact with the employee who tested positive. The Office of the Building has been notified to deep clean the courtroom where the employee worked.


March 25, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that three employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees – one Criminal Department employee working at the Domestic Violence Courthouse, 555 W. Harrison, and two Traffic Division employees working on the lower level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington – did not come in contact with each other and appear to have contracted COVID-19 outside of the Clerk’s Office locations. Two of the employees are in self isolation, have not been hospitalized, and last reported for work on March 19th. The third employee is also in self-isolation, but was released today after being hospitalized on March 20th and last reported for work on March 19th.

The Clerk’s Office’s Human Resources Department has communicated with the three employees to determine who they came into contact with while they were at work prior to receiving their diagnoses. Employees who were in close contact with the three diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the affected areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The areas where the three employees worked have been sanitized, and additional deep cleaning for the impacted areas is being conducted today.
