(Chicago, August 21, 2012), Hon. Dorothy Brown, The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, announced today  that her office has formed an E-Courts advisory committee comprised of members of the local legal community. The committee is charged with studying and making suggestions about several electronic services that Clerk Brown has initiated, including: eFiling, Online Traffic Ticket System, Smart Forms, eTickets, the Imaging and Document Management (court file scanning) System, and other automated programs.

“I am interested in advice from the practitioner’s perspective,” Clerk Brown said. “We want to move forward with implementing E-Courts initiatives that best serve court users.” One important topic the committee will discuss is how best to expand the Clerk’s Office’s eFiling system and engage the larger legal community in using the electronic service.

“My hope is that we collaborate on a timely and effective plan for installing eFiling in all court divisions,” said Clerk Brown.

The first meeting of the group will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Confirmed committee members include: Art Aguilar, Allen Cotton, Ian Hoffenberg, Tiberiu Klein, John Muldoon, Patrick Long, Kent Maynard, Jessica Scheller and Jaime Zeas, who will work alongside Clerk Brown and members of her executive and information technology staff.
