Clerk Dorothy Brown Launches CCC Attorney Portal for Illinois Licensed Attorneys to Search Criminal Cases via the Internet

(Chicago) Hon. Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, IL, announced today the official launch of CCC Attorney Portal on the Clerk’s Office’s website (www.cookcountyclerkofcourt.org/attyportal), granting attorneys with active licenses in Illinois, access to, and search abilities for, criminal cases online.
Clerk Brown directed the implementation of CCC Attorney Portal on the Clerk’s Office’s via the internet, through links on the Clerk’s Office website, as approved by Chief Judge Timothy Evans in a letter dated April 2, 2020. The portal allows attorneys to access the Clerk’s Office’s new Odyssey case management system for criminal case information upon proper registration and validation. (See information flyer attached.)
“We are very excited to enter this new phase of online access to criminal court case information,” Clerk Brown said. “This is major step forward in our ongoing efforts to increase access to justice by using technology to enhance our operations.” Clerk Brown added, “We are working on giving the general public access to criminal case information online in the coming week.” Permitting the general public to access criminal case information on the website was also approved by the Chief Judge.
The CCC Attorney Portal’s User Agreement includes certain stipulations that include but are not limited to: Using the CCC Attorney Portal for its intended purpose only; Not using the information contained on or in the CCC Attorney Portal for commercial purpose nor transferring it to any third party; Not using the information contained on or within the CCC Attorney Portal to operate an information bureau nor business of any kind; Not altering or removing any copyright notice or proprietary legend contained on or within the CCC Attorney Portal; Understanding that the CCC Attorney Portal is strictly for the use of Illinois licensed attorneys and that violation of any material terms of the CCC Attorney Portal User Agreement will result in suspension or termination of access to the CCC Attorney Portal and may subject the User to civil and/or criminal liability.
The CCC Attorney Portal will be live on the Clerk’s Office’s website beginning at 12:01 am, April 10, 2020. Users can log on directly at www.cookcountyclerkofcourt.org/attyportal. Links to the portal will also be found on the website under the following menus: “Services” on the main menu; in the “Online Services: Attorney Only Services” section, and in the “Search for Case Info” section at the bottom of the website’s homepage.
In addition, attorneys will find links to training resources for Odyssey case management on the CCC Attorney Portal. They may also receive user support by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
