Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos Announces Second Amnesty Week to Help Residents Resolve Eligible Traffic Debt

Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Mariyana Spyropoulos announced the return of Amnesty Week, a limited-time initiative that gives residents the opportunity to resolve eligible moving traffic violations without added collection fees.

Amnesty Week will run from Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 1, 2026.

Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos’ Office Will Depository Legislation Clears Both Illinois Chambers

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, led by Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos, today announced that identical Clerk-led proposals to modernize probate safeguards have successfully passed their respective chambers in the Illinois General Assembly. SB3291, sponsored by Sen. Bill Cunningham, passed the Illinois Senate with a vote of 55-0-0, while HB4722, sponsored by Rep. Lilian Jiménez, passed the Illinois House with a vote of 111-0-0.

Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos’ Office Advances Legislation to Create County-Level Will Depository System in Illinois

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, under the leadership of Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos, announced proposed legislation that would establish a statewide, optional, county-level will depository system. The legislation would authorize Clerks of the Circuit Court across Illinois to securely accept and safeguard original wills during a testator’s lifetime.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County is urging residents to remain vigilant after reports of a fraudulent notice falsely presented as an official court communication regarding unpaid parking charges. The scam document, labeled as an “Illinois Circuit Court – Hearing Notice,” is not a legitimate notice from the Circuit Court of Cook County.
