Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court Advises Public of the Continued Courthouse Closure Due to Power Outages

Due to severe weather, courthouses remain closed because of ongoing power outages. The Bridgeview Courthouse, Markham Courthouse, and Branch Courts 35 & 38, located at 727 E. 111th St., Chicago, are closed today, June 12, 2026. All incarcerated defendants at Branch 35 & 38 may appear via Zoom from 26th and California.

Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos’ Office Will Depository Legislation Passes Both Chambers

Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County Mariyana T. Spyropoulos today announced that SB3291, legislation establishing a statewide, county-level will depository system, has passed both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly and now heads to Governor JB Pritzker for consideration. SB3291, sponsored by Sen. Bill Cunningham and Rep. Lilian Jiménez, passed the Illinois Senate with a vote of 55-0-0 last month.

Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos Announces Second Amnesty Week to Help Residents Resolve Eligible Traffic Debt

Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Mariyana Spyropoulos announced the return of Amnesty Week, a limited-time initiative that gives residents the opportunity to resolve eligible moving traffic violations without added collection fees.

Amnesty Week will run from Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 1, 2026.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, led by Clerk Mariyana T. Spyropoulos, today announced that identical Clerk-led proposals to modernize probate safeguards have successfully passed their respective chambers in the Illinois General Assembly. SB3291, sponsored by Sen. Bill Cunningham, passed the Illinois Senate with a vote of 55-0-0, while HB4722, sponsored by Rep. Lilian Jiménez, passed the Illinois House with a vote of 111-0-0.
