Clerk Mariyana Spyropoulos Hosts “Navigating the Cook County Justice System” with Cook County Commissioners

Today, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County Mariyana Spyropoulos hosted “Navigating the Cook County Justice System” with Cook County Commissioners Scott Britton, Kevin Morrison and Maggie Trevor at Harper College in Palatine.  The event focused on educating residents about how to move through the Cook County Justice System and featured key countywide agencies.

Clerk Spyropoulos Celebrates Native American Heritage Month

Today, the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, under the leadership of Mariyana Spyropoulos, proudly celebrated Native American Heritage Month. Clerk Spyropoulos awarded Native American Leadership Awards to the American Indian Association of Illinois, the National Native American Bar Association and two Clerk of the Circuit Court employees.

Clerk Mariyana Spyropoulos and Investigations Division Adopt NAACP–ILACP Shared Principles to Advance Trust, Equity, and Accountability in Justice

Clerk of the Circuit Court Mariyana Spyropoulos announced today that the Office’s Investigations Division has formally adopted the Shared Principles, a landmark agreement between the NAACP Illinois State Conference and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP).

Clerk Spyropoulos Assists Hundreds of People in Expunging Records

Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County Mariyana Spyropoulos successfully held a Second Chance Summit giving hundreds of individuals the ability to start the process of expunging and sealing their court records. Hundreds of individuals attended the summit on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Proviso Math and Science Academy and were successfully able to file petitions for expungement or sealing.

Clerk of the Circuit Court Archivist Uncovers Pope Leo’s Grandfather’s Declaration of Intention

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court has uncovered a remarkable piece of the history of Pope Leo XIV. A Declaration of Intention filed by Pope Leo’s grandfather in Cook County offers a tangible connection between the Pope’s family and our local history.

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Dedicates Building in Honor of Clerk Spyropoulos

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) dedicated the disinfection facility in Skokie in honor of Clerk Spyropoulos. The ultraviolet (UV) water disinfection facility is now named The Mariyana T. Spyropoulos Disinfection Facility at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant.
